Happy Saturday morning, quilters! It's crazy to think to think that this is our June newsletter. JUNE. That means we're almost halfway through 2019 already, AND summer is just around the corner!
Because it's June...we thought it was only appropriate that we discuss some rather cool patterns that we've acquired lately from a company called...wait for it..."Then Came June". Over the past few months, we've received several different patterns (that you may have seen in our previous newsletters) from this company. More recently, Rachelle, our online sales manager, has been trying out a couple of them...specifically the "Meadlowland Quilt" and the "Flower Tile Quilt". Check them out below.
The Flower Tile Quilt
For this quilt (pictured below) we used a group of solids that Megan Buchanan, the genius behind Then Came June, uses for many of her projects. Big Stitch Quilting is a favorite technique of ours, and so our quilting will be done using our big stitch needles and pearl cotton thread. And speaking of pearl cotton thread, we chose bright, coordinating colors that will pop against our solid black quilt backing.
* Note: Fat Quarter bundles of these solids are currently available in-store and online while supplies last!

The Meadlowland Quilt
This quilt can be made using the fat quarter bundle from above, but Rachelle has also discovered that this pattern is quite versatile and many collections look good in these blocks. So far she's used the Twilight (pictured on the left) and Walkabout (pictured on the right) collections from Moda. Who knows what other collections she'll try next!

Countdown To Christmas - Softcover Book
Susan Ache's new book let's you incorporate your Christmas quilts into the rest of the year. It's a shame to make a quilt that can only be used for 1 month a year, but Susan's designed 12 patterns that can be used at Christmas, and also (with a few exceptions) throughout the rest of year. Most of the quilt patterns are "subtly Christmas" without being "overly Christmas", which allows you to create holiday quilts that don't have to be stashed in a trunk for 11 months of the year.
